LENTICULAR CLOUDS

Lenticular Clouds

These disc shaped clouds are rarely seen in this area.  Known as (Altocumulus lenticularis) are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form in the troposphere, normally in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction and are usually formed in the presence of changes in the terrain.  Shot on February 8, 2016, Dublin, GA 1:00 p.m.
